AJ Venter – Writer/Photographer
A.J. Venter was born in 1980 in Pretoria to a typical Afrikaans family. He chose a life of travel and exploration and became deeply passionate and compassionate about people and convinced
that there is only one human race, and one essential human nature that unites us all regardless of our cultures.
He studied philosophy, drama and literature yet somehow ended up being a computer geek for a living. He finds his passion however in writing and photography, expressing himself through both visual and literary arts as a restless soul refuses to be quiet.
He condemns all censorship and believes that the arts have a crucial role to play in promoting human rights. To this end his own works are all licensed under creative-commons licenses so that their reach and benefit can be maximized, including a poetry collection he published as a book in 2005 under the name “Batteries not included” which is sold at cost.
